Thanas Medi (Albania - Greece)
Thanas Medi was born in 1958 in Dhoksat village, province of Lunxhëria, Gjirokastra. He graduated on Albanian Language and Literature at the University of Tirana in 1988. Medi has started to write in his early age. He worked as a teacher until 1993, then emigrated to Greece. Now he lives in Athens. He published his first novel Hija e mallkuar [The cursed shadow] in 2011. While in 2013, he published his well-known novel Fjala e fundit e Sokrat Bubës [The Last Word of Socrates Buba]. Kohë e djegur [Wheal time] is his third novel published in 2016.. Medi is appreciated by critics as a virtuous pen, master of composition, concentrated dialogue, diverse language, and drawing with the original colour of the literary atmosphere that characterizes his work. Recent awards: 2011-Jakov Xoxa prize award by the Drita Writers' Club.; 2013- Great National Literature Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture with the "" as the best literary work for 2013.
